Debug
This feature allows a user to check the reasons for the absence of traffic on the creative.
Troubleshooting with Debug
This feature is extremely helpful when you need to understand why the creative underperforms.
To enable the Debug feature, please follow these simple steps:
- For a more specific investigation choose the endpoint for the debug. If none of these are chosen it will analyze the traffic of all endpoints connected to the campaign.
- Press the ENABLE DEBUG button on the Сreative settings page
- Wait a couple of minutes after opening the Creative debug information page
- Press the Restart Tracing button to reload statistics if needed
You can find a list of all available debug reasons and their description in our guide Debug Reasons.
Please note! The data of one Debug is kept in memory for about 15 minutes.
If you want to check more than 1 creative, you need to enable the new Debug after 15 minutes from the last update of the debug results, in order for the memory cache to be cleared and filled with new data.
Metrics in Creative Debug
There are three types of metrics in the Creative debug information:
- Bid means that the creative is successfully bidding.
- Outbid means that there is another creative with the same or higher price that was bidded instead of the one we've enabled debug.
- Filtered means that the creative is not showing due to specific reasons.
Let's assume that you set up a campaign for traffic from Germany and created a Video creative, but the Creative Debug information shows the following reasons:

The result of the creative debugging.
- Inappropriate media type means that 100 % of all requests are rejected because the creative media type specified in the requests doesn't match the actual media type of the creative.
- Video orientation filter means that 99.45 % of all requests are rejected because the video orientation specified in the requests doesn't correspond to the video banner settings.
- Inappropriate creative size means that 93.3 % of all requests are rejected because the creative size specified in the requests doesn't correspond to the actual size of the creative.
- Geo location allowlist means that 8.11% of all requests are rejected due to the geo-targeting settings — the incoming traffic is not from Germany.
If the percentage of rejected requests is equal to 100%, this indicates that there is a crucial conflict between the campaign settings and the incoming traffic and such a campaign cannot bid. In such a case, please, contact your SSP partner ASAP to agree on all the campaign and banner settings according to the traffic you're receiving from your SSP.
