Getting Started with AI Developer

Note

All current self-hosted Sonatype Lifecycle customers are entitled to preview credits for AI Developer. Contact your Sonatype account representative to claim your credits and start bringing trusted open source intelligence and policy-aware guidance into your AI-assisted development workflow.

Note that AI Developer is currently in Preview. During this period, we will support your use of the solution while we finalize the user interface and user experience

The following sections walk you through getting started with Sonatype AI Developer:

Prerequisites

Before you can enable AI Developer in your IQ Server instance, you'll need the following:

  • A self-hosted Sonatype IQ Server deployment that meets the following specifications:

    • Version 206 or later

    • Using an external PostgreSQL database

  • A valid license file that includes Sonatype AI Developer

  • Administrator access to install or update the product license

Install an AI Developer License

Use the existing IQ Server product-license workflow to install or update the AI Developer license. Use the documentation that matches your preferred method:

  • To install a license for the first time or update a license through the IQ Server user interface, see Product License.

  • To install a license programmatically while IQ Server is running, see Product License REST API.

After IQ Server processes the license, open the Product License page and confirm that License Type(s) displays Sonatype AI Developer and that Licensed Credits is present.
