Managing AI Developer

AI Developer is a consumption-based add-on managed through the existing IQ Server licensing flow.

Manage Entitlement and Credits

An administrator installs and manages the AI Developer license in IQ Server. The product license experience displays the AI Developer marketing name and licensed-credit information for entitled customers.

Use your organization’s normal license-management process to:

  • Confirm that AI Developer is enabled.

  • Review licensed-credit information.

  • Coordinate renewal or additional-credit needs with your Sonatype account team.

Manage Policy

Sonatype AI Developer uses your configured IQ policies to determine and report on which components are considered policy-compliant.

Screenshot of a component overview showing one low-severity vulnerability, an MIT permissive license, and policy compliance. The Policy Compliance section lists one Security-Low violation for vulnerability sonatype-2017-0717 with a severity score of 2.1.

By default, it uses the root organization; you can select the context (i.e., organization or application) to override the default.

See the main Configuring Policies help documentation for more information on policy management.

Help Developers Adopt AI Developer

Start with a small pilot using an approved AI coding assistant and representative dependency workflows. Capture connection issues, useful prompt patterns, and internal guardrails before expanding access to more teams.

Troubleshoot Access

If AI Developer is not available in the product switcher or a developer cannot connect, verify the license, available credits, IQ Server version, user access, and network reachability.

If the problem continues, collect the assistant name, connection method, relevant error text, and the affected IQ Server version before contacting Sonatype Support.
