Here is a link to an explanation, demo, and the code. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/baz.butcher/mh/atest/Explanation.html Sorry it's not a zip but it has taken me hours to get all the bits to work in this context and it's easier to update as individual files. Note you need 2.82 or later to have the fp-light-on gif. baz --- In mis...@ya..., "Robert Rozman" <rozman@f...> wrote: > Baz, > > could you share your floorplan work to community ? > > Regards, > > Robert. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "bazyle2002" <baz.butcher@n...> > To: <misterhouse-users@l...> > Sent: Wednesday, December 31, 2003 4:07 AM > Subject: Re: [misterhouse-users] Jason - floorplan question > >. > > By coincidence over the last couple of days I wrote half a program to > > use CSS and Map techniques. > > So far I have clickable light bulbs overlaid over the (modified) > > distribution floorplan.gif over > > over individual room sized coloured 'carpets' over two layers of > > garden gifs. BTW, I tried Alen's suggested hack and that worked for me. I imagine that it might be improved by a table lookup so that the translations are not directly in the code, maybe even something in mh.ini that would be something like X10_security_translate = C1_04:XP3PJ,C1_84:XP3PK >From: Gaetan linny Lord <ga...@sg...> >To: Ernie Oporto <ern...@ho...> >CC: mis...@li... >Subject: Re: [misterhouse-users] BX24 and Secure data >Date: Tue, 30 Dec 2003 14:53:07 -0500 > >Well I don't have the code yet, and new year is tomorrow. How have you guys implemented heating control in Misterhouse? I'm more interested in the logic behind the control rather than that hardware itself (though I am a member of the UKHA list and there are plenty of guys on there who would be interested, and in particular central heating boilers, here in the north of England, we have little need for Aircon :-) Yeah, I know it's sad posting to mailing lists on New Years Eve, but I'm on call so have to stay sober :-( -- -S |

When you say manually do you mean that someone flips a switch? If
so how will MH know?
Anyway check out set_with_timer, here is a sample of my code. I know
the \$x$audrey is nasty looking. You just need to replace it with your
X10 device name, such as \$Kitchen_Light (yes you need the \$ inside
the eval statement).
# Periodically ping Audrey to see if she is responding
# The host names are Audrey and Patricia
# the X10 modules names are $xAudrey and $xPatricia
if (new_minute 10) {
for my $audrey (split ',', 'Audrey,Patricia') {
#print_log "Checking $audrey";
if (!&net_ping(&audrey_ip($audrey))) {
print_log "A: $audrey missed a ping.";
if (!&net_ping(&audrey_ip($audrey))) {
# It's got to be on before an off can be sent
if (eval "state_now \$x$audrey eq OFF") {
eval "set \$x$audrey ON";
}
print_log "A: $audrey not responding, resetting her power.";
# This turns it off and then turns it back on in 90 seconds
eval "set_with_timer \$x$audrey OFF, 90";
}
}
}
}
Anyone know how to turn this off if I needed to?

Hi all,
I am trying to have misterhouse notice when a closet light is turned on.
Then set a timer for the light to turn off after 5 minutes, but if someone
manually turns off the light, for the timer to stop. That way, misterhouse
can monitor those lights (like a closet) that needn't be left on for long
periods of time. Being very new to Perl, I was wondering if someone could
help me along with the code for this. Also, what is the best way to test
my little snippets of code. Right now, I right a code.pl file and put it
in my code directory, when misterhouse tries to load it, I can tell if
there are errors....but I'm sure there is a better way.

Enhancements to Current Implementation of X10_Switchlinc:
1) Reports the state, level, and state_level appropriately
2) 0% to 100% are represented correctly
3) Supports response from status request (2-way only)
4) Sets state/level when switch is pressed (2-way only)
NOTES:
The old version overrode set(
), but did not work well with the two way X10
Switchlinc devices. The changes are pretty simple and utilize the
infrastructure already provided by MH.
Since I am new to MH and Perl programming, suggestions/corrections are
welcome.

I am probably showing my ignorance of html here but when I tried
adding a background image
previously it didn't work at all.
I deduced that the background="xxxx" bit had to be inside the <body>
tag, but in floorplan.pl this
tag is genearated by the call to &html_page('FloorPlan', $html); so
just adding it aftr the
meta tag didn't work. I only just tried writing my own html
generating code and
realised how easy adding the whole <body background etc> would be.
This "alpha channel" is completely new to me, so some research needed.
By coincidence over the last couple of days I wrote half a program to
use CSS and Map techniques.
So far I have clickable light bulbs overlaid over the (modified)
distribution floorplan.gif over
over individual room sized coloured 'carpets' over two layers of
garden gifs. It's rather slow
but the effect is great.
Anyone else tried CSS?

Okay, to get a timer to save, you have to do this:
$test_timer = new Timer;
set $test_timer 60, 'speak("test timer");';
Anonymous subroutines do not restore properly when saved to a timer as
far as I can tell.
Also, the timer created with set_with_timer() does NOT appear get saved.
I don't like this. It would be cool if we could have nested objects in
the restore string... since the Timer already generates its own restore
string, it could be used to store the timer in the other object. I may
look into doing this with set_with_timer at least.
Finally, the timers reset upon restart... not the end of the world, but
ideally a 3600 second timer would be from the time it was set and not
from the last startup (if Misterhouse is restarted). I may look into
this as well.
Just thought I would share my findings with others.

Are you using winamp or xmms? The winamp script supports an mp3_program_host ini parameter, but it's mostly untested. The mp3_play subroutine doesn't support it, for example. I have some ideas how to add remote capabilities to the xmms script also. There is even a way to run xmms on a virtual X server, if anyone is interested in a headless mp3 server. Let me make sure I've got this right... I'm thinking that this type of
timer does NOT make it through a restart because one of its argument is
an anonymous code reference which will not exist after the restart...
set $timer 300, sub {
set $gate_flood_light OFF;
set $corner_flood_light OFF;
set $side_yard_flood_light OFF;
};
But, I understand that this WILL make it through a restart:
set $timer 300, 'set $gate_flood_light OFF; set $corner_flood_light OFF; set $side_yard_flood_light OFF;';
In this case the second argment is just a string which will be saved properly.
Likewise, am I correct that this will also last through a restart?
$light->set_with_timer(ON, 3600);
I'm also not completely clear on which timers objects are saved. I'm thinking
that this object will NOT be saved (and will create a new object every time):
sub blah {
my $timer = new Timer;
set $timer 300, 'set $gate_flood_light OFF;';
}
But that this WILL be saved and every time the function is called the existing
timer will be reset:
my $timer = new Timer;
sub blah {
set $timer 300, 'set $gate_flood_light OFF;';
}
Or does the 'my' screw it up completely? What about timers contained within
objects? Are they saved and restored?
I guess I really have no idea how the whole saving state/restoring state
system works and have not been able to find any good docs on the topic.
Misterhouse does a lot of really cool magic that I don't understand.

I have the following code to watch for D-ALL_UNITS_OFF on the powerline
(CM11). Unfortunately, I somehow got that command on my W800. The
serial hook picked it up just like it was on the powerline (as one would
expect it to).
So, how can I hook only onto one serial device? Alternatively, is there
a way to see where the data came from? Or is there an entirely
different way I can do this?
I tried checking the second parameter that is passed into this function.
Sure enough, it is often times 'W800', but only when the serial data is
garbage. When a true X10 state comes through the second argument is
empty.
Serial_data_add_hook(\&front_door_all_on_off) if $Reload;
sub front_door_all_on_off {
my $state = shift;
if ($state eq 'XDO') {
run_voice_cmd 'All Inside Lights On';
}
if ($state eq 'XDP') {
run_voice_cmd 'All Lights Off';
}

ACtually,
Its just the opposite for me. Whenever I click on the playlist through
the /misc/mp3.html page, then it never works. In Winamp it always says.
1.music(Playlist name)
Even if I try and play what's in the cue, nothing happens.
Now when I use the /music/ page, then I can click on a playlist and it is
correctly placed in the cue, but it will not automatically play. I have to
click play for the radiostation to actually start.

Well I don't have the code yet, and new year is tomorrow. But I did some investigation, and I will be able to get the BX24 and the new MR26 receiving security code, with definition done in the items.mht file. Should have the code for you, and anybody using X10 door sensor by sunday.=20 On Fri, Dec 26, 2003 at 10:45:35AM -0500, Ernie Oporto wrote: >=20 > I'm thinking of checking out Dave's new PIC as well, so I'll wait for you= r=20 > update. The Groove Salad playlist worked for me with the http://192.168.1.10:8080/misc/mp3.html page, but not the http://192.168.1.10:8080/music/ page. Is that what you are seeing? Actually I should be embarrassed to reply because after looking at the =
code I realized that 3 songs are needed for the album to show up with =
the same artist in each case (I think year is also important). The =
latter is not the case when I loaded a compilation CD with different =
artists and years. Once I changed the artists to 'Various' and picked a =
year then up popped the album.
Thanks for the help, the player works great!

When you click on All Songs do you see that track listed with a title, =
but no artist or album info? =20

Could not send the track (too large) so I took a screen shot of the =
WinAmp Tag Editor displaying the tag data of a track that will not =
display.

Send me one of the tracks with tags that don't get recognized and =
I'll take a look at it. I worked on the Winamp script this weekend and =
fixed the problem with the new web interface. The new misterhouse =
release has my fixes. =20

Subject: [misterhouse-users] MP3 Player - Old and New
Few questions on both these.
The orginal MP3 Player works very well but the database seems to =
not handle albums well. I have a number of albums defined in the tags =
but the mp3 player only picks up a few (cant see the logic between those =
it displays and those it doesnt).
All other functions work ok.
The new player I ahve not been having much luck with. When I =
try to use it I get the following:
'The mp3 player is not currently running on the system' message =
twice in large letters at the top of the brower window and the name of =
the curently playing song in WinAmp at the bottom.
