I have some code that wouldn't let it start up but once I renamed it
to *.pl.somethingelse else, it started up.

It looks great on phone.

I'm having trouble figuring out what's happening here. I was

Add that item to the All_Lights group, and it should show up under ‘Browse All Lights'. For example, for an insteon light:

Progress!

I added CODE, $D_Chandelier->set_states(“off”,”20%”,”40%”,"60%”,”80%”,”on”); to items.mht and now the button works!

this should now someway be added to UPB_Device.pm. The buttons show only under 'Browse Groups’ and not under 'Browse All Lights’ and the gear still lacks any information - so still a little more to do!

I use whitelist authentication, although did not have the ^ in the listing - I do now but still same result.

Hello all,

I’ve just added support for Philips Lux lights to the Philips Hue module in MisterHouse (https://github.com/hollie/misterhouse/pull/492).

With the development of the new IA7 web interface, I’d like to add proper dimming support to the Philips Hue code. Right now dimming is possible by calling $device->bri(<level>) in the user code, but this does not work from the web interface of course.

As far as I understand for some devices (Insteon, X10) it is possible to dim the devices through the web interface. I have no such hardware to test with.

Is there somebody who can explain me how to tell MisterHouse/the web interface that a device can be dimmed? What function do I need to add or what state do I need to define? How about the granularity of the dim levels (per 1% or per 10%)?

I’ve taken a look at the Insteon code for lights, but the principle that is used there is not completely clear to me.

At first glance, It looks like the UPB_Device doesn’t provide 'states' information through json_server.

Looking at json_server.pl, the states are provided via this call:

}

and $method is set to ‘states’

It looks like only Insteon/BaseInseton.pm has a ‘states’ method. Strangely enough, I have generic items that seem to work. I’ll have to look into this further. Unfortunately, I don’t have any UPB_Devices to test.

My system reads the current status of lighting and properly displays it. However clicking a button only provides the following and activating the what looks like a slider will only turn off the light …



but then the browse summary looses the status and can not be turned on or brighten/dim.


I can still turn lights on/off from Floor plan view - but no way to change the level.

Ideas on what to look for? This was not working correctly in previous web versions either.

Hey Mike,

the ‘xxx’ was to show that you needed to replace the string with the correct ‘print_log’ or ‘print_speaklog’. You did that, so nothing to worry about.

Thanks for testing this further, I have pushed a fix to the hollie/misterhouse.git master branch based on your input (fixes on lines 289, 308 and 562).
