If so, you can turn on debugging for 'occupancy' and perhaps that will tell you how it is happenening? Hopefully it doesn't hurt anything... obviously I use the code extensively and do not get this error. -- Kirk Bauer <ki...@ka...> http://linux.kaybee.org | www.autorpm.org | www.logwatch.org |

Larry, I'm getting the same thing. And until you mentioned it - I hadn't realised that it's only been happening since I started using the MOTION and PRESENCE objects. If I do a Reload I get a heap of them in a block but I also get individual instances occasionally while MH is running. In my capacity as a fumble fingered apprentice Linux admin, I managed to wipe out my mail spools shortly after I made the last post to this thread. I was wondering if I'd missed any traffic on this. I also found that this list doesn't seem to be archived. :-( |

I have seen this when you choose one specific format for your modem and then you run a test in a different format. Each of those test case of the caller id point to different formats. For me, since I am running callerid format 4, I can only select for a test 2 or 4 because I am guesing the nmbr comes before name. But that has been a while ago. I updated lib/http_server.pl to do what you suggested, specifying Last-Modified: in the header, then checking for If-Modified-Since requests on incoming data and returning a 304 if it has not changed. Seems to be working great! I actually got this changed last Friday, but then was gone all weekend so didn't have a chance to test it much. Still haven't tested it too much, but I think it is working. Ok, got the Play_parms_hooks in there, along with the sound_program check.

The function doesn't >appear to be called: The string data passed via the url will get passed in exactly as is, so if the first string represents the name of an object, your function will need to do an eval on it. Here is an example of how web/bin/button_action.pl does it: eval qq|$item->set("$state", 'web')|; To make sure SUB still worked, I just tried this function in some test user code: sub selectvsource { my ($zone_obj, $vsource) = @_; return "<P>Test message. o=$zone_obj s=$vsource"; } And called it with: http://localhost:8091/SUB;selectvsource('hi','bye') and I got a web page with this: Test message. o=hi s=bye I don't use SUB much anymore as it is easier to call .pl functions directly, like we do with all the files in mh/bin. No need to reload code to debug, simply change the .pl file then push the browser reload button. Bruce |

I'd try adding debug=X10,proxy to your proxy and main mh.ini files, then see what sort of output you get when you send X10 data out of each. If still stuck, feel free to send me some of the errata and I can help debug Bruce |

I re-installed my OS just before that release and somehow messed up the compile process. Instead of mh.bat or mh.exe, try running mhe.bat instead. That will use the version comipled with the newer par compiler (same one we use in the linux mhe binary). I'll fix that mh.exe binary before the next release. Since we are on the topic of windows binaries, those of you have tried both mh.exe and mhe.exe have any votes as to which we should have as the default? From what I've seen, I think mhe works better, and it uses the newer version of perl, so I'm thinking it might be time to switch, and maybe even drop the older mh.exe version. Any objections? Bruce |

What was the function you were calling with that time string? I think the
0:30 should work, for adding 30 minutes to most time related tests. I just
tried this here and it worked ok:
print "Yep, dark out\n" if new_second and time_greater_than "$Time_Sunset
+ 0:30";

On my RH 8 box, which shows it at /usr/bin/play . You can point to a
different program, or a specific path, with the mh.ini sound_program parm.

I'm stumped here. I just did a windows search for 'a word or phrase in files' for parsed in all the files in the mh dir and did not find any code that would produce that message. I guess I'd recommend you try the same thing. Maybe it is in an older mh distro or maybe some bad user code file you have. Bruce |

What were you chaging it to? Bruce -----Original Message----- It is in lib/http_server.pl (around line 560) . This file is modified occasionally, so it is worth adding a comment to yourself so that you can easily find the modification again if you want to move up to a later version of the file. You may also want to put your modified copy into your personal code file. If you don't, your modified copy will be over-written if you install a later version of mh. Clive I would like to change the text that is displayed when cliking the 'Login' button on the ia5 home page. Despite lots of searching I cant find the location. Anyone know where it is? |

This rang a faint bell in my empty brain ... my volume was turned down ;)
I see this in common/mh_sound.pl:
elsif ($Info{Volume_Control} eq 'Win32::Sound') {
$volume_previous = Win32::Sound::Volume;
$volume = int 255 * $volume / 100; # (0->100 => 0->255)
$volume = $volume + ($volume << 16); # Hack to fix a bug in
Win32::Sound::Volume
&Win32::Sound::Volume($volume);
}
Looks like I had problems with this also, but I think the above works ok.

If I understand it correctly, it not a signal 'sucker' more of a noise emitter. Some switch mode power supplies generate a lot of noise/interference back onto the ring main. This interference can be so great as to mask the X10 signal (which is after all interference itself). An X10 filter should prevent the noise that device creates from leaking back onto the ring main. I use one on my UPS unit, ironic isn't it. -----Original Message----- From: Alan Womack [mailto:arw...@wo...] Sent: 30 March 2004 01:03 To: Alan Womack Subject: re: [misterhouse-users] appliance module does not work with attached computer >> I have two computers with identical hardware attached to two different 466 >> wall outlet modules. >> They are both directly connected to the computer. There was a really cool article a couple years back in maximum linux ( jan/feb 2001 issue and mar/apr 2 parter. 1 part hardware 1part soft). I was able to track down the author and his pages with an overview of the project. http://www.anders.com/projects/route66/ I really wish that he had the whole article/howto there, but alas the mag went away :( ... But this page should get the creative juices flowing. I was contemplating a MH derivitive/add-on that would wirelessly exchange information with my master MH server to sense the presence of the car(s) and adjust the lighting accordingly (auto on when coming home at night), as well as having it sync data, music etc when in the garage .... Just some quick thoughts (though I do some with my zaurus sl500d anyways) Add some remote capacity (cell satelite, hotspots ...) and viola remote anywhere ... Just my $.02 -Pete On Mon, 2004-03-29 at 20:44, Thomas Harding wrote: > Has anyone used mr house in a car yet? I ask because I am in the process of building a car pc. Yes, back EMI from your computers power supply is preventing the module from receiving codes. Some power supplies are noisier than others, as I have discovered. An EMI filter might help. Why are you doing this? Killing power to a PC is generally not a good idea.
