A Google search for 'C++ tutorial, "college level"' gave some very interesting results. One of the better ones was Academic Resource Links - C/C++ Programming. Lots of other goodies on that site for not just for geeks and techies, but also for other academic fields. Ok guys, u all seems to appreciate wx, so i'm going to try it... However, if someone read this msg and have any other suggestion, just send it, I still think that there is a way, hard maybe, to resolve this problem. I'm working on xp, and what make me so exasperated is that i can enter text in a edit in hebrew or arabic, but can't dispaly it in a static.... Have you thought about what locale your application runs in? And you run Win Xp or similar that does support non-western languages? It was probably 8 years since I did a japanese application. Then, I didn't have to do anything special. When editing the dialog resources, it was enough to specify if things should be displayed right-to-left. Most probably there should be similar methods for hebrew or arabic. Why are you trying to change the font? Hi everybody I'm trying to develop a mutlilanguage application, at fisrt it seems to easy to do it but now i have 2 problems with special languages like hebrew or arabic... The first problem is to display some text on a dialog in this languages, i tried to use SendDlgItemMessage(hDlg, ID_STATIC , WM_SETFONT, (WPARAM)hFont, TRUE); It works with edits (after loading the concerned keyboard layout), but doesn't work with statics... And the second problem (of course) is how to get a text writen in this languages from an edit for example in a string or whatever else so i can display it again... i didn't try to do it caus' it seems to be related to the first problem. Dear per and friends,
I'd problem with vc++ compiler. I'm addding the haeder file as project->add to project-> and creating header file. But sometimes the compiler says as
cannot save the file the file may be in use by another application .
Actually I couldnt understand why it is happening. What does it mean and why it is behaving sometimes like that. Waiting for your responce.

Yeah, otherwise your String class is okay. Just try and keep in mind that it should only be a wrapper on top of character arrays, nothing more. This is because you really should use character arrays in the first place, but since I'm lazy I'm building a similar class modeled after Java's java.lang.String's look and feel (but not it's "leave memory everywhere" technique), but yeah, that looks okay by me. The only thing I'd like to know about is why you had the iostream operators made as friends of String, rather than overloading them outside of String. I don't get that. Mind explaining? |

I've used 3 friend functions. The istream and ostream
functions are visible in the class browser but the "friend
complex operator* (double a, complex& b)" function is not
visible. It works perfectly but experience has shown that if
its not seen in the browser, there's something wrong
somewhere. The implementation of this function is as follows.
