Hi All, I've got a similar problem with GTK. What does 'add ... to your project' mean. I thought all I had to do was make a reference to the directory that contained the *.a files in the Tools: Compiler Options: Directories: Libraries dialog. Although I've got lots of references in the Libraries box the compiler still doesn't seem to be finding the libraries for GTK. I'm using Dev-C++ 4.9.2.0 (beta 5) on a Windows 2000 box. These are the errors I'm getting: Line Unit Message 10 //F/Dev-C++/Projects/GTK/main.cpp undefined reference to 'gtk_init_abi_check' 12 //F/Dev-C++/Projects/GTK/main.cpp undefined reference to 'gtk_window_new' 13 //F/Dev-C++/Projects/GTK/main.cpp undefined reference to 'gtk_widget_show' 15 //F/Dev-C++/Projects/GTK/main.cpp undefined reference to 'gtk_main' John M -----Original Message----- From: dev...@li... I tried to install Allegro for the Dev compiler but no luck. I followed the directions for my XP machine and set the envoronment and autoexec.bat to the specifications listed in the text file (I installed it in the default directory listed in the file, c:\Dev-Cpp). When I type 'gcc -v' in the command prompt I get a responce saying the directory and the version. However, after I 'fix.bat mingw32' and type 'make' it says "Please specify your MingW32 directory via MINGDIR=", but I did specify it in the autoexec.bat! Why wont it work? _________________________________________________________________ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com |

Ooops! I wrote string instead iostream.h, it is included (both are) and doesn't work, neither using namespace std; global or local. Yes, as Jonny has said, you're using an ancient version. The new packages are only compatible with the new package manager. |

First unzip Gtk-Dev.zip. Click on the Install button in the Package Manager, go to the directory where you unzipped Gtk-Dev.zip to, and select Gtk.DevPackage. Then follow the instructions. |

include sstream and string, etc using namespace std; (o)stringstream ostri; string cadena = "wekrkrk rjgjtgtkh\nefrjjf"; ostri << cadena; (ostri.str(cadena) this line was a trial which did not work) cout << ostri.str(); return The output: nothing at all. With debugger I see that ostri has loaded in it the string cadena, but the output doesn't happen. This works in Borland and cygwin, but in mingw32 with dev I don't find the way. I upgraded a couple of months ago the compiler, for installing allegro. It neither work if I substitute with the sstream from cygwin or from Borland C++ 5.5 (the free one) |

I mean that arh is an object and you declare it with parenthesis.

extern is used for global constructs. arh is defined with parenthesis.

why ()?

Hi List,
what is the meaning of the following error message:
19 showres.cpp
request for member `TI' in `arh', which is of non-aggregate type `arrhenius
()()'
the line in which the error occurs:
void showres()
{
extern arrhenius arh();
cout << "TI = " << arh.TI << endl;
[...]
TI is a public member of arh.
The constructor of arh:
arrhenius::arrhenius(int gr, int smpl)
{
[...]
}
Whats wrong ???
Thanks in advance
Horst

I tried installing Allegro for the Dev compiler, but I keep running into an error. I added 'c:\dev-cpp\bin' to the beginning of my Environment path(I used the default directory to install on my XP machine) and added 'set MINGDIR=c:\dev-cpp' to my autoexec.bat. When I type gcc -v in the command prompt I get a respose that it is reading the stuff. However, after I 'fix.bat mingw32' in the allegro directory and type 'make' it gives me an error saying: "Please specify your MINGW32 directory via MINGDIR= See the docs/build/mingw32.txt file!" _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp. |
