I'd like to take advantage of Dev-C++'s built-in CVS support, but I don't seem to have cvs.exe anywhere on my computer? Where can I find a cpoy of this that will work with Dev-C++? |

You may want to check out the ghSocket.cpp and ghSocket.h found at http://unixnaut.com/skills/Languages/cpp/ I've used them on Windows without problem so the code may enlighten you. -Steven Quoting "Lucas K. A simple `grep' may help, do it in the lib dir, recursing if necessary.

I have just done another try with getting the bits of the image, I have just done now one experiment which has worked at last, I changed the size calculation for the buffer, which would be enough reason for the access violations, although I feel this doesn't justify all the fails I had before, it still deosn't work, but I think now I can yet see the way. However I haven't used this in the way I wanted. (In some procedure for read the bitmap directly from file. What I have really done is LoadImage and getdibits from there) and I would still appreciate any pointing to any good net resource about those ---DIB--- functions. Thanks. |

Thanks for your reply. Actually I am using Dev-Cpp 4.9.7.4 under windows. I just call it a = tarball because the filename on the Mingw WebPages are = gdb-5.2.1-20021009.tar.gz, I think I read somewhere that that called a tarball but of cause I could easily be wrong. Hi all So, no one answered my question on gdp yesterday, so this newbie has to try by him self. Since I am somehow new to programming I really need a debugger I am rather tired of using a lot of resources on constructing code with cout for debugging purposes. So I went to the MIINGW homepage a found out that an experimental version of gdp exist, downloaded it, found the file gdb.exe and copied it into dev-cpp/bin and suddenly debugging seems to work. So fare so good, but I am in doubt. Is this a method that can be recommended? The gdb tar ball contains a some more directories some of which is not in the Dec-cpp distribution (eg. /include/readline ). Should I just copy all file from the tarball tom my Dev-cpp distribution and thus create some new (at least one) directories? Or is the Mingw supplied with Dev-cpp different thus making all this dangerous to the stability of Dev-cpp? Hope someone has an idea of what I am doing and some thought on this would be nice, otherwise I wish everyone a pleasant weekend. Lars-Bo |

Hi All, Somebody was looking for iterative matrix routines written in C. I found this on Programmer's Heaven. I'm not sure if they're iterative (I haven't looked), but there's source code and all the good stuff (this is from the newsletter): - Algebra linear functions in language C. ----------------------------------------- - A) Basic functions (use fractions) : addm, subm, multm, powm, - smultm, transpose, trace, det, minor, cofactor, mcofactor, - adjoint, inverse, gauss, gaussjordan. b) With random values. c) - Save your work in a text file. math,algebra linear, matrix, - language c, source. - http://www.programmersheaven.com/search/download.asp?FileID=25498 _____________________________ Marc Heiligers |

Hi, I have used the import function on dev-cpp to import a VC project file. When I then try to compile fltk.lib, I get the following errors. ../src/Fl_x.o(.text+0x57d):Fl_x.cxx: undefined reference to `select@20' ../src/Fl_x.o(.text+0x5e3):Fl_x.cxx: undefined reference to `__WSAFDIsSet@8' ../src/Fl_x.o(.text+0x60f):Fl_x.cxx: undefined reference to `__WSAFDIsSet@8' ../src/Fl_x.o(.text+0x63b):Fl_x.cxx: undefined reference to `__WSAFDIsSet@8' ../src/Fl_x.o(.text+0x902):Fl_x.cxx: undefined reference to `select@20' C:\Dev-Cpp\lib/libmingw32.a(main.o)(.text+0x7f):main.c: undefined reference to `WinMain@16' make.exe: *** [fltk.lib.exe] Error 1 Execution terminated My question is, do I have to do something else to the file before I can compile it. I have also tried to compile the program from the command line, but when I type 'make', I get an error, indicating that it cannot find 'touch'. Could someone please tell me what this is, and where I can find it. As can be seen from the above, I am relatively new to C++ and makefiles. Thanks for any help. Jaques Strydom |

sorry Colin, I have discovered the error, with Allegro it is necessary to finish the program with the line END_OF_MAIN( ); after the end of the main program ...the secrets of programming !!. thanks, Ricardo. |

Greets, Colin and Ricardo.

Actually, it means, WinMain() is not defined. Ricardo has probably created a
GUI program with a main() function. To fix it, in Allegro, use
END_OF_MAIN(); after the closing brace of main(). Like this:
int main()
{
}
END_OF_MAIN();
Otherwise, change main() to WinMain(). However, retaining main() will be
more portable.
