I am very new to coding and I am working through a novice textbook.
My programs never get past the "Enter an integer" stage. The DOS box =
opens
to enter the integers and then it closes.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can configure Dev-C++ to function =
properly?
A basic example is below.
Thanks,
Jamie
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main()
{ // EXAMPLE 3.8 USING COMPOUND CONDITIONS
// Uses the compound conditions to find the minimum of three integers
int n1,n2,n3;
cout << "Enter three integers: ";
cin >> n1 >> n2 >> n3;
if (n1 <=3D n2 && n1 <=3D n3) cout << "Their minimum is " << n1 << =
endl;
if (n2 <=3D n1 && n2 <=3D n3) cout << "Their minimum is " << n2 << =
endl;
if (n3 <=3D n1 && n3 <=3D n2) cout << "Their minimum is " << n3 << =
endl;
cin.get();
return 0;
}

Hi, I successfully compiled wxwindows within the cygwin environment and I can compile and run the examples by compiling them from the console window. So I included all the neccessary directories into the DEV-CPP Project environment and take the compiler and linker options as I get them from the wxWindows2.4.2 devpack. So when I try to compile a Hello World example which doesn't make any problems with the wxWindow installation for MinGW with the devpack. But I my case (with cygwin) the compilor does not find the standard string.h for all references to string.h the compiler takes /wx/string.h I dont konw why and I also have no idea what I can do to fix this. Attached to this mail I will send the generated makefile. I hope somebody can help me to go on working with DEV-CPP and cygwion By the way I have Windows2000 Greetings Frank |

Hi, Some time ago I provided some users of this forum with a functional DLL + a sample of embedded mysql. I sadly lost that file and would like to get it again as soon as possible (It's name was embedded.zip). Could anyone who downloaded it from my site please send it to me? My email: jo...@su... It´s because you previously added 2 in the "pointer function" so x value
is 12 when you call fr()
That explain why you get 15 : 12 + 3 ;)

Yes, I followed the uninstallation procedure that's in the forums at sourceforge. 1. I ran the uninstall from the dev directory. 2. I deleted the dev dir along with the config files. 3. I did a search for any other files that might be around somewhere, there weren't any. 4. I rebooted. 5. I redownloaded the installation file. 6. I installed to C:\Dev-Cpp 7. I ran the autoupdate feature. 8. I changed the dirs my sources are in to names with no spaces. 9. I tried again. 10. Failed miserably. 11. Got frustrated. 12. Decided to write to the mailing list. So that's pretty much all I did. Thanks in advance.. adios, dario. -------------------------------------------------------- It's time to toss the dice and hope that chance rolls in our favor. _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail |

Hi, Peter. I looked through your makefile and found only one mistake: These options -Lc:/dev-cpp/gtkmm/lib -Lc:/dev-cpp/lib must be LIBS's parameters (i.e LIBS = -L"c:/dev-cpp/lib" -Lc:/dev-cpp/gtkmm/lib -lgtkmm-2.0 ...). It's not a CXXFLAGS. But the main problem is that you have Gtk+ 1.3 (or less) installed. Some heaaders from gtkmm-2.0 contains such include directives: #include <gdk/gdk.h> or #include <gtk/gtk.h> and so on. If you have directory c:/devcpp/include/gdk then #include <gdk/gdk.h> means that it is c:/devcpp/include/gdk/gdk.h file, but it must be c:/dev-cpp/include/gtk-2.0/gdk/gdk.h file! So it's simple incompatibility version error :-) . If you really need gtk+ 1.3 you must reinstall it into another directory (i.e. dev-cpp/include/gtk-1.3 and dev-cpp/lib/gtk-1.3 ). Good luck! -- Best regards, Denis |

You shouldn't use files that have spaces in the pathname either. It will work sometimes but eventually, it will kill you. It happened to me, too. You need to uninstall Dev-C++ (go to the Soundforge forum and get the procedure for deleting Dev-C++), then re-install in a different directory. Then move all your programs to place where there aren't spaces in the pathnames and rebuild everything. HTH. Watson (the pencil neck) Davis |

Hello everyone!
Im not really new to Dev-C++ but there seems to be a
problem that I cant get around... Every time i try to
compile anything I get the following output:
Compiler: Default compiler
Building Makefile: "C:\Documents and Settings\Miguel
Moll\Desktop\Development\Dev\Makefile.win"
Executing make...
make.exe -f "C:\Documents and Settings\Miguel
Moll\Desktop\Development\Dev\Makefile.win" all
Execution terminated
Anyone knows what this means? I have tried various
methods... too many to type! So my last resort was to
ask the experts. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks!
BTW, For some reason vUpdate wont work either. I keep
getting:
* Error: Your devcpp.cfg file is missing
the $BIN field is
[VUPDATE] SECTION...
Is there something wrong here or it just me?
