What occurs Mahmoud, is that Dev-Cpp creates initialization files in a folder that is off of "c:\documents and settings" in most installations. Do a search from "c:\" for the file "devcpp.ini" and once that is found, delete it and other associated Dev-Cpp files in the folder where "devcpp.ini" resides. This should reset Dev-Cpp to it's initial post-install state. Mahmoud Kassem <mah...@gm...> wrote: Hello I would like to reset my Dev C++ settings to the default. @Gerson Lara:
Well, for the window this is OK...
But not for the bitmap... It's a little bit more complicated, but you wher=
e on the right way... ;))
Meanwhile I solved the problem:
HBITMAP hbm =3D (HBITMAP)LoadImage( .... );
HDC hdcTarget =3D GetDC( hwndTargetWindow );
HDC hdcBitmap =3D CreateCompatibleDC( hdcTarget );
HBITMAP hbmOld =3D (HBITMAP)SelectObject( hdcBitmap, hbm );
BitBlt( hdcTarget, ...., hdcBitmap, ... , SRCCOPY );
// cleanup
SelectObject( hdcBitmap, hbmOld );
DeleteDC( hdcBitmap );
ReleaseDC( hdcTarget );
Thanks for all responses !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wrote a couple of functions for Comma Separated Value file I/O. I also wrote a test case, with a lot of asserts to test it. While the test runs just fine if compiled with Dev-Cpp 4 or on gcc 3.3.3 on Linux (Eclipse), they fail on Dev-Cpp 5 (in particular the function used for setting the reading position in the stream in order to read a "record"). Anyone has thoughts? PS. I can post/attach the code if needed Thanks very much in advance -- Silvio Moioli moio AT tiscali DOT it (no HTML email please!) http://www.moioli.tk "Things should be as simple as possible, but not any simpler" (A. Hello.
As far as I know. there is no problem with making casts between Handles, put, they are not just pointers, I think there is some struct involved. So I recomend, not the simple casting, but the use of other API's functions. For example:
HDC GetDC(HWND);
instead of (HDC)hnd_Window, do this:
HDC hdc = GetDC(hnd_Window); and use it in the call to BitBlt.
In the case of the bitmap, try using HBITMAP instead of a HANDLE, I think a Handle is more like a long integer o somethig like that... I'm no sure about this.
But I'm sure thet HBITMAP corresponds to "HANDLE to BITMAP", son you'll be able to use it without casting in the call to BitBlt.
Your code may look like this:
void wndAnfang::drawSchein(){
HWND hnd_Window;
HBITMAP hnd_BMP;
if(hnd_Window = FindWindow("fltk", "AB-Sys")){
if(hnd_BMP = LoadImage(NULL, "F:\\Sources\\DevCpp\\Sys\\out\\Schein-Small.bmp", IMAGE_BITMAP, 0, 0, LR_LOADFROMFILE)){
HDC hdc = GetDC(hnd_Window);
bool b = BitBlt(hdc, 0, 0, 300, 300, hnd_BMP, 0, 0, SRCCOPY);
DeleteObject(hnd_BMP);
ReleaseDC(hdc, hnd_Window);// this is important, only one trhead can have the DC of a window
// I'm not sure about the second parameter, but I'm sure about the name of the function.
message("%d %d %d",b,hnd_Picture,hnd_Schein);
}
}
}
I hope this may Help.
I'm working at this time with bitmaps an that stuff, but I'm no expert, so please, keep me up to date about your proyect, I can learn from you and I'm willing to help you.
Gerson.
A_B...@gm... wrote:
Thank you for the hint !!! :)
But now I have an other problem...
I get two different types of handles (HWND and HANDLE).
BitBlt needs for source and destination the handle type HDC.
So the only way to get this code to run seems to cast the two handles to HDC.
But BitBlt returns False and nothing is drawn to the window!
void wndAnfang::drawSchein(){
HWND hnd_Window;
HANDLE hnd_BMP;
if(hnd_Window = FindWindow("fltk", "AB-Sys")){
if(hnd_BMP = LoadImage(NULL, "F:\\Sources\\DevCpp\\Sys\\out\\Schein-Small.bmp", IMAGE_BITMAP, 0, 0, LR_LOADFROMFILE)){
bool b = BitBlt((HDC)hnd_Window, 0, 0, 300, 300, (HDC)hnd_BMP, 0, 0, SRCCOPY);
DeleteObject(hnd_BMP);
message("%d %d %d",b,hnd_Picture,hnd_Schein);
}
}
}

hi, Go to the OpenCV folder under "Program Files". You will find a folder by name cv. This folder further has a folder include. When you make an application using OpenCV, include this in the path by using -I(Path to the include folder of cv) as your compiler option. Next, in the folder OpenCV under "Program Files", you will find another folder by name lib. You will find a file by name libcv.a. Again, while compiling your application, link to the libcv.a library file using -l(path to libcv.a). You can do the same if you want to use highgui or cvaux by repeating these steps for each of these libraries. I use this procedure for making my OpenCV applications. Hope this workd out for you too. Hi guys.. I am relatively new to this, so sorry in advance for any stupid og = obvious questions I might ask :-) I've done some C++ programming before but with the standard functions. = Now I need to install the OpenCV package (course on controlling robots = at uni). Can anyone help me? I've run the package .exe which installed = the files in \Program Files\OpenCV\ ... But then what?.. It doesn't work = in Dev-C++... :-S... Any help is greatly appreciated :-) Kind regards, Jesper, Denmark |

I've loaded them as a resource file, then:
#include <windows.h> ...
int WINAPI WinMain (HINSTANCE hThisInstance,
HINSTANCE hPrevInstance,
LPSTR lpszArgument,
int nFunsterStil) {
...
HICON windowIcon;
...
windowIcon = LoadIcon(hThisInstance, "A"); ...
The resource file (*.rc) declares, in this instance an icon, "A" as:
A ICON MOVEABLE PURE LOADONCALL DISCARDABLE "FileCleanerPro.ico"
If I recall correctly, this will work for BMP files also. BTW: The Win32 API Programmers Reference documents this in a kind of indirect way. I can e-mail it if you don't have the file, but be aware that it is 11.279MB in size.
Hopefully this helps!

Hi,
I want to use the BitBlt and StrechBlt APIs for drawing images on a window.
Now this APIs needs handles to the window and the bitmap.
I can get the handle of the window, but how do I load a bitmap into memory and get its handle ???
thx, Acki

Thank you for the hint !!! :)
But now I have an other problem...
I get two different types of handles (HWND and HANDLE).
BitBlt needs for source and destination the handle type HDC.
So the only way to get this code to run seems to cast the two handles to H=
DC.
But BitBlt returns False and nothing is drawn to the window!
void wndAnfang::drawSchein(){
HWND hnd_Window;
HANDLE hnd_BMP;
if(hnd_Window =3D FindWindow("fltk", "AB-Sys")){
if(hnd_BMP =3D LoadImage(NULL, "F:\\Sources\\DevCpp\\Sys\\out\\Schein-=
Small.bmp", IMAGE_BITMAP, 0, 0, LR_LOADFROMFILE)){
bool b =3D BitBlt((HDC)hnd_Window, 0, 0, 300, 300, (HDC)hnd_BMP, 0, =
0, SRCCOPY);
DeleteObject(hnd_BMP);
message("%d %d %d",b,hnd_Picture,hnd_Schein);
}
}
}

If you want to load a bitmap from a file (.bmp), then you have to look=20 for an image library or write your own loader, as the Win32 API doesn't=20 support loading bitmaps from files directly. It can load bitmaps from resources though. See LoadBitmap() for details. -- Greetings, Bal=E1zs |
