Hi Thoralf,
Possibly a missing semi-colon?
Try:
DWORD ShiftCount
);
Instead of
DWORD ShiftCount
)
I'm basing that on the first error, and the complaints of missing ";". Possibly a problem with the formatting of Int64ShllMod32 parameters?

Hello...
try to initialize min and max before using it, like
min = numberGroup[0];
max = numberGroup[0];
after initializing numberGroup
btw: min must be bigger or equal to the lowest and max smaller or equal
to the highest value in numberGroup - otherwise they will be values
which aren't in the list; this is given by the above two lines

First of all this is the C way of coding. In c++, there is the std::vector
class to handle arrays of entries.
Anyway, you have forgotten to initialize the min and max variables. The
easiest way is to do:
min = max = numberGroup[0];
for (i = 1; i < 5; i++) {
if (min > numberGroup[i]) min = numberGroup[i];
if (max < numberGroup[i]) max = numberGroup[i];
}

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to teach myself more C++ than I learned in college through
creating some fun programs. Today I got the idea to write a program
that would take a file in a common format (.txt or .html), find all the
doubles or ints, save them to an array or vector, then sort through them
to find the highest and lowest values. I'm not expecting to get there
in one day, but I'm hoping that I'm on the right track.
My first step was to see if I could determine the min and max of a list
of values, to do this I constructed an array with 5 values, then listed
5 values for each of the subscripts of the array. Next we search the
array for the biggest value, then display the results. I believe that I
wrote the code correctly, but I got some funny results. I'm hoping that
some of the wiser members of the list could help my figure out what my
problem is and perhaps set me on the road to fix it. The code follows
below.
Thanks,
Kevin.
First, the output:
Maximum: 4268036
Minimum: 1
Press any key to continue . . .
Now, the code:
#include <iostream.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
using namespace std;
int main()
{
int numberGroup[5];
int max, min, j = 0;
numberGroup[0] = 1;
numberGroup[1] = 2;
numberGroup[2] = 3;
numberGroup[3] = 4;
numberGroup[4] = 5;
while (j <= 4)
{
if (max <= numberGroup[j]){
max = numberGroup[j];
}
else if (min >= numberGroup[j]){
min = numberGroup[j];
}
j++;
}
cout << "Maximum: " << max << endl;
cout << "Minimum: " << min << endl;
system("PAUSE");
return 0;
}

short answer: it's not possible to use MFC in Dev-C++
long answer: if you have MFC sources, you can try to compile them using
Dev-C++

Hi,
I am trying to call a Compaq Fortran DLL written by a colleague from a MinGW C++
application in DevCpp. I added the *.lib file from the DLL to the libraries on the
DevCpp project. I can get a simple program(pasted below) to link, start, and work with
a test function in the DLL which adds integer arguments. A more complex function which
fills an initially empty array fails-the array comes back as all zeros. The Fortran
DLL prints the array as it is filling it, so the function seems to be called and there
are numbers going into the array in Fortran. However, when the returned array is
printed from C++ it is still all zeros. The C++ code is attached below. I have tried
using __stdcall in place of the "extern C" calling, however, this leads to linker
errors between the DLL and DevCpp, even if the DLL is recompiled with __stdcall,
making me wonder if there is some special trick for mixing Compaq Fortran and MinGW?
Thanks for any ideas or pointers,
Matt

You can do everything in C that you can do in just about any other existing programming language. It just a question of how. In this case, you haven't said what type of application you are writing. If it is a command-line application, then you must pick up the characters without echo and then emit the stars. If it is a graphical application, then you set the flag ES_PASSWORD when you construct the edit control. Note that there are no single standard for receiving characters without echo using C on different platforms. /Per W On Wed, 22 Jun 2005, LETCHUMANAN SAMINADAN wrote: > Dear all, > > I'm using Windows platform. Look for mkdir() in stdlib.h, if I recall correctly.

To avoid the problem with multiple inclusion of the same header file (if
that is the problem you are having) you have to change the header file
in question to include the following code:
------------------------- panel.h: ---------------------------------
#ifndef __PANEL_H
#define __PANEL_H
/*
* Content of header file. Once defined __PANEL_H we avoid the double
* inclusion of the header file.
*/
#endif

I would recommend taking "struct panelobs *above;" out of the structure itself.
Then declare your pointer as
PANELOBS *above;
after the typedef.

everything works just fine until I include the header file only once.
if I include it from two separate places, I get the following error:
34 x:\Dev-Cpp\include\panel.h redefinition of `struct panelobs'
the definition in question is:
typedef struct panelobs
{
struct panelobs *above;
struct panel *pan;
} PANELOBS;

Hi,
I'm trying to include pdcurses' panel.h in my project... had to tweak
it a bit, but then I've tried both to include panel.h and panel.c in
my project, then made a lib of it, but neither way was succesful.
everything works just fine until I include the header file only once.
if I include it from two separate places, I get the following error:
34 x:\Dev-Cpp\include\panel.h redefinition of `struct panelobs'=20
the definition in question is:
typedef struct panelobs
{
=09struct panelobs *above;
=09struct panel *pan;
} PANELOBS;
how can I get over this ?
TIA,
