Try taking a look at the Aztec 3d modelling program sourcecode. There's a section in there about the splash screen. This may just be overkill though. http://sourceforge.net/projects/aztec/ At 01:29 AM 06/12/2002 +0530, veenurs wrote: >Hi All, > Can anybody help me as to how I can create a Splash Sceen for my >application with Dev-CPP . > A good link will do . > My problem is - >1. Rahul,
Here is a code snippet that I used to make this work. Hope it helps!!!
Mark Wise
----
wxBitmap bitmap;
if (bitmap.LoadFile("olp.bmp", wxBITMAP_TYPE_BMP))
{
wxSplashScreen *splash;
splash = new wxSplashScreen(bitmap,
wxSPLASH_CENTRE_ON_SCREEN|wxSPLASH_TIMEOUT,
6000, NULL, -1, wxDefaultPosition, wxDefaultSize,
wxSIMPLE_BORDER|wxSTAY_ON_TOP);

Hi Fernando! > Someone know where can I find a library to work with the tags in a mp3 > file? > And to convert from a wav to mp3? Don't use mp3! It is "deprecated". Use Vorbis instead! "Vorbis sounds better. Vorbis is open, so you're free to use it on your favorite platform. Vorbis doesn't have intellectual property restrictions to get in the way. And Vorbis doesn't just try to sound better, it tries to do things fundamentally better in all the ways that it can." Generally "Ogg Vorbis is a completely open, patent-free, professional audio encoding and streaming technology with all the benefits of Open Source." - like mp3, but it is better in ALL terms. Look for more info at http://www.vorbis.com and read the FAQ, it will surely convince you! It has convinced me. Even Winamp 2.80 can play ogg vorbis audio. -- Best regards: Balázs |

hello, I have just updated my mingw installation with the release candidates of binutils and gcc 3.2.1. I also updated my win32api and msys. After compilling a few programs i noticed that the exe's generated have substatially reduced. a typical example is the MdiApp in the example directory of Dev-cpp. Before the update the exe size was 109 kb whilst its now just 33kb. Another small program of my has reduced from 87kb to 66kb. So those whose main concern with the gcc 3.* ver was the size of the exe's can give it a try. I'll like to thank all the guys at mingw who are working for free in developing this greate compiler. You are all superstars. It's in milliseconds, but of course all a sleep function can do is
guarantee a MINIMUM sleeping time. In case other processes gets scheduled
to run, the sleeping process might have to wait slightly longer than the
specified time interval.
However, it is extremely rare that you get more than a couple of tenth of
seconds extra delay before being allowed to run. Was there any problem
recompiling the application between the test runs?
For long delays, you can just specify larger delay numbers until you reach
the numerical limit of the input parameter. For even longer delays, you
must do a loop with multiple sleep calls.

int main(){
Sleep(46000);
return(0);
}
And it ruuning more or less 45 seconds... i tryed change this values to
42000, 43000, ... and it appear running always near 45 seconds.... :/
How to count for example 1 minute with this sleep() function ??

Hi. Here's the deal: I want to turn window ID number (#define ID_WND 100) to handle to that window, so I can use it in SendMessage function. I tried to use MAKEINTRESOURCE macro (HWND hwnd=(HWND)MAKEINTRESOURCE(ID_WND), but it doesn't work as I expected. I read that return value of it is type LPTSTR. Can that be cast as HWND? If not, is there some other way to do this? Regards, Vlada |

Sure it's good if everything works without changes after an installation. However, if a mistake has been made, remember that everyone makes them now and then, and that the guilty party does his/her work for free. Maybe a 'thank you that I only have to add an include path' would be more in place... /Per W On Thu, 12 Dec 2002, Matt Kerr wrote: > > Call me crazy but I think it should work without changes after installing... > Did someone forget to try and do a clean install before publishing it on the > net? > > hehe > > -- Matt > > -----Original Message----- > Date: Tue, 10 Dec 2002 21:51:53 +0100 (MET) > From: h.r...@gm... > To: dev...@li... > Subject: Re: [Dev-C++] Problem Compiling with version 4.9.7 > > try to include the path > C:\Dev-Cpp\include\c++\mingw32 (if you use the default settings) in > tools/compiler options/directories/c++ includes.
