Can someone tell me if they see something blatantly obvious.
My compile.log relays the following, please note I have wrapped my class def
in my own namespace(opacki):
warning: friend declaration `std::ostream&
opacki::operator<<(std::ostream&, const opacki::List<ItemType>&)'
declares a non-template function
// function type inside my class declaration //
friend ostream& operator <<(ostream& outs, const List<ItemType>& theList);
// full function in my implementation template //
template<class ItemType>
ostream& operator <<(ostream& outs, const List<ItemType>& theList)
{
for ( int i = 0; i < theList.currentLength; i++ )
{
outs << theList.item[i] << endl;
}
return outs;
}
// inside main() //
List<int> firstList(2);
firstList.add(1);
firstList.add(2);
cout << "first list = " << firstList;
// ^ error occurs here //

Ok I'm going to leave work soon but here is a solution. You can set up an account for the client (part of the security, the .mdw file) and specify that they only have access to the reports. you will want to build a 'switchboard' form that greets the client when they open up the database with a button(s) that launch the report(s). Babu" <smi...@so...> >To: Daniel Glenfield <sp...@ho...> >Subject: RE: [Dev-C++] MSAccess >Date: Thu, 16 Oct 2003 17:52:32 +0530 > >We are sending the application and a copy of database.. >I want to encrypt the database and allow the client to do the apllication >which will update the database and allow the client >to view the report only >Is it possible >Can u help me.. >regds >smitha > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Daniel Glenfield [SMTP:sp...@ho...] > > Sent: Thursday, October 16, 2003 5:44 PM > > To: smi...@so...; dev...@li... > > Subject: Re: [Dev-C++] MSAccess > > > > A number of options are available. > > > > You can create a data access page where you can present the information > > like > > a report, or (the way I prefer) build a web page that displays it using > > ASP. > > How is your client connecting to the database, over the internet or via >an > > > > internal intranet? > > > > Daniel > > > > > > >From: "Smitha V. Hello All,
I'm working on building a generic sort function with templates that I got
out of Walter Savitch's book "Problem Solving with C++". My error is this
that it is not sorting correctly for me. I think I have just been staring
at it for too long. Can someone take a peak and tell me of my obvious
mistake. Thanks.

So you have written an application that updates the MS Access database, but you want to send the database itself so the client can update this local copy using your application and let the client view the report only? am I correct? >From: "Smitha V. A number of options are available. You can create a data access page where you can present the information like a report, or (the way I prefer) build a web page that displays it using ASP. How is your client connecting to the database, over the internet or via an internal intranet? Daniel >From: "Smitha V. This wouldn't happen to be university homework would it?
What does this mean?
"Using the function - theUni.foodItem(&apple) - to associate them in a Game
function is clearly not going to work because there are multiple apple
objects?"
Either you need to go into more detail or you don't understand what you're
meant to be doing.
Ouch, scathing aren't I?

Hi
I have a Game(manager) class that contains a list of Apple objects and also
a World object called "theUni". How do I associate the World class with the
Apple class?
class World
{
Apple* apple;
public:
void foodItem(Apple* a)
{ apple = a; }
}
Using the function - theUni.foodItem(&apple) - to associate them in a Game
function is clearly not going to work because there are multiple apple
objects?
Damian

Hi all, I need take control over the serial ports to monitoring reads data, I saw a lot of info about c++, clases and so on. I wish to stay in c only by the while, in a console application, gcc 2.9xxx, dev-cpp & win32. Where I can found serial ports libraries to work in it ? Im confuse about. Thanks in advance Roberto |
