Hi this is my first post to the list I was wondering if someone could please help me out with this problem: The program should take an input of upto 80 characters and sort the characters into order according to the order of their appearance in the string, skipping spaces. Eg: MISSISSIPPI MUD would output: MMIIIISSSSPPUD Any help would be much appreciated.. Mansoor Nathani |

You can't define a function within a function. here you define area()
inside main().
Proper ANSI C++ code:
int area( int s1, int s2);
int main()
{
int vol;
vol = area(12, 13);
return 0;
}
int area( int s1, int s2 )
{
return s1*s2;
}

try to declare function out of the main.
ex.
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int area( int s1, int s2);
int main()
{
int vol;
vol = area(12, 13);
cout << "area(12, 13): " << vol << endl;
return 0;
}
int area( int s1, int s2 )
{
return s1*s2;
}

then programming must be the process of putting them in.

Hello I started learning C++ a week ago, and was beginning to think it
wasn't half as difficult as it's made out to be. Then I tried a minimalist
program to demonstrate the syntax of calling a function.
With the program below I get the compiler message " parse error before
'{' " relating to opening curly bracket of return s1* s2. Any ideas about
what is wrong, nothing I do cures it.
#include <iostream.h>
int area( int s1, int s2);
int main()
{
int vol;
vol = area(12, 13);
int area( int s1, int s2 )
{
return s1*s2;
}
return 0;
}

Hi friends,
Some days before I have reported about compiling errors while trying to =
create menu to Windows using Dev-C++ version 4.0.
The error is due to an error in the default .cpp source
to which the following lines should be added if it is to work properly.
1. add " HMENU menu;" as line no 13 after
"WNDCLASSEX wncl;"
2. addthe lines" menu =3D LoadMenu(hThisInstance, =
MAKEINTRESOURCE(ID_MENU));
SetMenu(hwnd, menu);" approximately towards line 53,
after the code line
" /* Make the window visible on the screen */
ShowWindow(hwnd, nFunsterStil);"
Hope the developers will notice this and make necessary
corrections in the future versions
With regards
Ameer Khan

I figured you'd all like to know that I figured out why I didn't get the resource site displayed properly. For some reason I have managed to lose my Helvetica font file, so it chooses a sans-serif font, but doesn't choose a very good one at the moment. The problem is that I don't know where to find the helvetica font file. I've looked on my windows CD and AFAICT it's not there. If someone can help my sending the relevent ttf file to my e-mail address it would be a great help. Thank you, Jason. jas...@bt... |
