When I compile my program, Dev-C++ automatically include the file 'winuser.h' as well as other windows files. I don't want this, I am not creating a Windows program, but a Text program. Another member of the mailing list, Jorge Infante, kindly suggested me to remove the winuser.h file from the '../include/' subdirectory and warned me that it was more of a trick than a solution. Later this afternoon, I had a little misunderstanding with the MS-Windows OS; I am more of a UNIX user, and I feel like I have one hand tide behind my back here in the Windows world, and didn't have time to work on the Dev-C++ problem. Anyway, what can I do to stop Dev-C++ from including 'winuser.h'? Thanks folks. -- Jorge Escalante FYI http://www.astro.umd.edu/~marshall/abbrev.html E-Mail Policy http://www.vif.com/users/escalante/Email_Policy.html * You cannot exercise your power to a point of humiliation. - Jean Chretien * The media's the most powerful entity on earth. Apparently outportb() or inportb() isn't supported in Dev-cpp header files. Does anyone know what Dev-cpp uses to write and read to port or memory locations in C? With borland I just typed outportb(0x378, 0xff). John R __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Sorry guys, I took a lot to answer you. Well, basically yes, but there are more sites who make reference to the same, of course, some ... maybe: http://www.epanorama.net (Lot of hardware) http://www.beyondlogic.org (Lot of hardware) http://www.naughter.com/ (free app to serial ports, with MFC, VC) http://webclub.kcom.ne.jp/ma/colinp/win32/index.html (great, basic windows not serial ports) more and more round the same ... or pay libraries to do. But all still the same, mingw people tell they using standards libraries for windows, bhu ... I wish to stand over c, and a console win32 app, devcpp is great for me, so I thinking about to buy a win32 book or something else, have not good windows env training to prog. Still confuse about. Looks complex to do a simple capture from serial ports without old dos style. Regards Roberto Daniel Glenfield wrote: > Where did you find the information on doing it in C++ ? On msdn?
