Hi,
I want to start to build windows application with Dev-Cpp and I found =
this two frameworks, fltk and wxWindow, and both seem good for my needs =
(and as far as I know both have a devpak). From my point of view they =
seems very similar and my question is: which one is better ("better in =
which sense?" :-). I saw in fltk there is a gui editor called FLUID and =
I like it, there is something similar in wxWindow?
Any opinion will be appreciate.
Thanks
Alessandro

Hello ! A new update (version 4.9.8.5) is now available. You can either download it from WebUpdate in Dev-C++ or at this address: http://bloodshed.net/dev/devcpp4985.zip (if you download the .zip file, extract it in your main Dev-C++ directory and it should overwrite existing devcpp.exe and language files). Version 4.9.8.5 change log: * Added the possibility to modify the value of a variable during debugging (right click on a watch variable and select "Modify value") * During Dev-C++ First Time COnfiguration window, users can now choose between using or not class browser and code completion features. * Many bug fixes Greetings ! I have now wxBase and wxMSW. If you want to link in own code without using cpp files, you should create a library, i.e. incorporate one or more .o files into a libxx.a file. Then just place the lib file into your normal library directory, and then add the option -lxx to the project. /Per W On Sun, 23 Nov 2003, Coosa wrote: > Hello all, > > > > When I compile certain files within a project and get the object files after > a successful compilation I can later use the .o files and delete the > oroginal .cpp files and just inlcude the header file for the function > declarations. > > However I wish o be able to use my object files without being imposed to > create a project! > > For example: > > Suppose I created a project called project.dev and I included to my project > A.cpp, A.h and main.cpp > > Afetr compilation I've got also now A.o and main.o to my project. > > I can delete A.cpp and includde the A.o to the object files under project > options -> parameters -> linker, no problem with that. > > > > Now, I wish to use both A.h and A.o without including them to a project! > This means to put them in the default include directory under > C:\Dev-Cpp\include and under C:\Dev-Cpp\lib repectively. Hello all, =20 When I compile certain files within a project and get the object files = after a successful compilation I can later use the .o files and delete the oroginal .cpp files and just inlcude the header file for the function declarations. However I wish o be able to use my object files without being imposed to create a project! For example: Suppose I created a project called project.dev and I included to my = project A.cpp, A.h and main.cpp Afetr compilation I've got also now A.o and main.o to my project. I can delete A.cpp and includde the A.o to the object files under = project options -> parameters -> linker, no problem with that. =20 Now, I wish to use both A.h and A.o without including them to a project! This means to put them in the default include directory under C:\Dev-Cpp\include and under C:\Dev-Cpp\lib repectively. Then when I = create a normal source file ( not a project ) I wish to simpley include the A.h = and use the functions in it! When I do this get :=20 [Linker error] undefined reference to `..' Can some one help me please how to configure such issues? =20 Bets regards =20 Coosa |

Either you use the wxWindows package available for Dev-C++ or you download and build the wxWindows framework yourself. If you are going to build the wxWindows framework yourself, you may either download the wxAll packet, or go for wxBase + one platform-specific zip/tar, such as wxGTK (Linux with GTK), wxMac, wxMGL, wxMotif, wxMSW (Microsoft Windows), wxOS2, wxX11. wxWorkshop is a resource editor, i.e. you create dialog boxes and menues with it. /Per W On Sun, 23 Nov 2003, Mohamed Iqbal wrote: > Hi... > > While searching for wxWindow on SourceForge.net I found wxBase. Hi... While searching for wxWindow on SourceForge.net I found wxBase. What is wxBase? Is it necessary to compile wxWindow? I found also wxWorkshop. Has anybody used it before? Mohammed |
