Same here. Programming and religion are two totally separate things, and there are already plenty of religious freaks everywhere... don't need = one on this list as well. And I can't take people trying to tell me that I'm not making the right decision because I don't contribute to the widely spread fable of some supernatural being people call 'god'... I stick to facts and things we = can prove. But that's not relevant for this list either :D Paul P.S.: Didn't mean to offend anyone... I'm just anti-religion, but to = each his own, right? :) -----Original Message----- From: dev...@li... Actually, I created that devpak. Which version did you download? What version of GCC are you using? (gcc -v) What C/C++ flags did you specify? If you used defaults, could you also post the build log? You should still track down the problem. If a memory allocation fail, you want to trap the problem and either terminate the program with a message that the user should release more memory before running it, or you want the program to continue but without the exptra features that requires more memory. /Per W On Tue, 27 Jan 2004, Mohammed Iqbal wrote: > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Ed Cottrell" <em...@ed...> > To: "'Mohammed Iqbal'" <mi...@ac...>; "'Dev-Cpp-Users'" > <dev...@li...> > Sent: Tuesday, January 27, 2004 6:16 PM > Subject: RE: [Dev-C++] Problem on XP Professional > > > > Mohammed, > > > > You have a buffer overflow or a problem with pointers. If the MD5Init function is implemented in C, you should modify the header
file to specify
#ifdef __cplusplus
extern "C" {
#endif
...
#ifdef __cplusplus
}
#endif
To make sure that a c++ program knows that the MD5Init() function should
be called with the C calling convention, and that the name isn't mangled
in the library, i.e. that the code should link with a symbol called
_MD5Init

I don't know what graphics have with the topic "Using namespace std". What kind of collisions are you thinking about. Maybe because you are using uninitialized pointers, using pointers or arrays outside of allowed range, failed with a memory allocation, ... You really have to come back with more information. /Per W On Sat, 24 Jan 2004, Mohammed Iqbal wrote: > Hi... > > > I wrote a a large program with Dev-C++ on Windows XP Professional. Mohammed, You have a buffer overflow or a problem with pointers. For example, if you declared in one place char a[] = "Hello world", then tried to do sprintf(a,"xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"), that could do it. More likely, you're doing something like assigning an invalid value to a pointer or failing to use malloc(). If your program took three hours to compile and you haven't debugged it, yet, it's going to take you a LONG time to find all the problems. I suggest reading up on pointers at http://www.eskimo.com/~scs/C-faq/top.html Hope that helps! -Ed -----Original Message----- From: dev...@li... HI ALL , SOMETIMES WE ALL GET WORRIED . WE ALSO GET FUSTRATED IN LIFE . THERE ARE SOME PROBLEMS WE HAVE THAT NO HUMAN BEINGS CAN SOLVE . IN THIS CASE , WE ALL HAVE NO OPTION BUT TO RELY ON THE ALMIGHTY GOD . FOR IF NOT HIS MERCIES , WE WILL BE CONSUMED BY THE FUSTRATIONS AND ALL THE PROBLEMS OF THE WORLD . NOW THERE ARE SOME SUPERNATURAL THINGS THAT HAPPEN IN ONES LIFE AND WE SAY WE DONT BELIEVE OR THAT ITS IMPOSSIBLE OR WE MAY TAKE IT FOR GRANTED . GOD IS THE PERSON BEHIND ALL THESE THINGS . HE'S (GOD) THE CREATOR AND WANTS U TO REALISE HIS PRESENCE AND NOT TO TAKE HIM 4 GRANTED. WHY NOT ACCEPT HIM IN UR LIFE . GET CONNECTED TO THE HEAVENLY NETWORK AND ENJOY BENEFITS LIKE ETERNAL LIFE , SALVATION , JOY WHICH MONEY CANT BUY AND OTHER SUPERNATURAL / HEAVENLY THINGS WHICH U CANT GET HERE ON EARTH . Hello,
a) I have a .h (header file) that declares a struct:
...
typedef struct {
UINT4 state[4]; /* state (ABCD) */
UINT4 count[2]; /* number of bits, modulo 2^64 (lsb first) */
unsigned char buffer[64]; /* input buffer */
} MD5_CTX;
...
b) and I have .c (C source file) that uses the header above:
...
void MD5Init(MD5_CTX *context);
...
c) I have created a .lib (library file) with the functions above.
I have used the header file above into a .cpp (C++ source file). The .cpp
file uses the .lib functions, but the compiles says "Unresolved external
MD5Init(MD5_CTX*) ...".
I think the .lib was included correctly on the project, so is a struct
preserved when used into a cpp file?
Thanks in advance, Vinicius.
PS: I'm using actually the Borland C++Builder 3 IDE for this project, but my
doubts is concerned about the theory, excuse me for anything.
