Greetings! Applications use Shell_NotifyIcon function to create an icon on the Windows Taskbar's Status Area(system tray). But what if we turn the the table around... What if the application is the one that displays the icons in an area(maybe a system tray replacement or something). It receives some calls from the system informing the application that another application has called the Shell_NotifyIcon function and should process the data that was passed by the other application. Question - How does the application receive the notifications from the system that another application has called Shell_NotifyIcon(or simply means that a new icon for the "system tray" was created? Does the system notify the application or not? All I wanted to do with the application was to detect if there are icons in the system tray... or if the application IS the system tray, how does it detect if there are new icons to be added, and/or that some of the icons where modified(for Shell_NotifyIcon also allows to change an existing icon in the system tray). How do I do this? Please, someone, help! Thanks to anyone! dXFx -- __________________________________ www.edsamail.com |
