Hello, I'm trying to compile some example code and I'm getting the following linker errors with Dev c++. [Linker error] undefined reference to `GetStockObject@4' the code that this refers to is: winclass.hbrBackground = (HBRUSH)GetStockObject (WHITE_BRUSH); Does anyone know where this function is defined?? I had similar problems with the playsound function, but putting "-lwinmm" in the linker options fixed this. |

Greets, nmp...@ya... and Lucas. > PS: sorry about changing the title, but I hardly think "DEV-CPP Digest Vol > 1 #1260" was an appropriate one for you question Right you are. About your question, I think the problem is that a lib isn't being linked in; probably the CommonDialog library. Try adding `-lcomdlg32' to the `Linker Parameters' under project options. Also, please don't post so much code; initially, just describe your problem with the error message and maybe a couple of lines of code (the EOTT lines). If someone can't figure it out, you'll be asked to post more code. Thanks. ___________________________________________________________ Abhijit Shylanath mu...@gm... http://mudeth.tripod.com/ |

Hello List, I don't use c/c++ too often, and when I do, it's in a Unix environement. The software I've written usually just compiles. I've got a simple application that I'm trying to compile on Windows with the Dev-cpp environment (Dev-c++ 5.0 b7, gcc 2.95.3). It uses the PostgreSQL C library called libpq. I seem to be having trouble getting the mingw32 environment set up to compile libpq programs though. For simplicity sake, I'm starting out with a sample program used for explanation at the url: http://www.ca.postgresql.org/docs/aw_pgsql_book/node147.html On Linux I compile the program by doing: cc pg_test.c -o pg_test -lpq However I'm not able to compile to get the same results in devc++. Has anyone had any luck with the postgres client library, and if so, can you ouline the steps you used to set up your environment? Thanks in advance, -- Matthew Nuzum www.bearfruit.org co...@be... |

I have written a programm and it runs without any problems at win = NT/200/XP. But on win98/SE/ME it breaks with error in Kernel32.dll. The Programm starts but if I close a new Window it breaks, the only = function call is the PostQuitMessage. =20 Can someone help me ? |

You didn't exactly give us any clues as to what your problem is. Note that a number of function calls are only awailable on NT/2000/XP. Unicode, waiting for timers etc are extensions in the NT series of the Win32 API. /Per W On Tue, 4 Feb 2003, Reisenauer wrote: > I have written a programm and it runs without any problems at win NT/200/XP. > But on win98/SE/ME it breaks with error in Kernel32.dll. > Can someone help me ? > > |
