very short... 1) first read : http://www.wxwindows.org/devcpp.htm 2) second download extra.zip and unpack it in your dev-c++ bin directory (don't replace existing files) 3) add in you Path your dev-c++/bin directory (check in a command line by typing gcc ) 4) add WXWIN environement variable 5) search all the setup.h in wxwindows directory and change the configuration 6) change the wxWindows_2.4.0/src/makeg95.env <cid:par...@fr...>if need 7) launch a command line and go in wxWindows_2.4.0\src\msw then launch make -f Makefile.g95 (FINAL=1 if need) 8) in the samples directory launch make -f Makefile.g95 9) copy the .a in your lib directory 9 bis) the inlcude directory in the dev-c++ directory 10) create your own project in dev-c++ houf ! |

The name of that structure is dosdate_t, not dos_date_t, same goes for = doestime_t lkt153 |

If you look into dos.h, you'll notice that it doesn't contain any time
handling functions or structures, so obviously the compiler doesn't have
the faintest what "struct dos_date_t" is.
If you on the other hand take a look into time.h, you'll find a lot of
standard time-handling functions and structures there.
#include <iostream>
#include <time.h>
time_t t;
struct tm *local;
// alt 1
t = time(NULL);
cout << ctime(&t);
// alt 2
t = time(NULL);
local = localtime(&t);
std::cout << "local time is " << asctime(local);
std::cout << "gmt time is " << asctime(gmtime(&t));
std::cout << "current year is " << localtime.tm_year;

I get an error "aggregate struct dos_date_t today has incomplete type and cannot be initialised." can some one please help me reconstruct the syntax I do not know about dos_date_t, but I know that this message means that dos_date_t is not defined. So find the include file which contains the definition for dos_date_t, and include it. |

The DevPaks included with Dev-C++ are a very thoughtful feature and handy to newbies since they allow users like me to just click and make things work. I would like to use the wxWindows GUI toolkit with Dev-C++. However, while the latest wxWindows version is 2.4.0, UNfortunately, the wxWindows DevPak available via vUpdate of Dev-C++, contains the version 2.2.9. Hence, I'd downloaded the whole wxWindows package from www.wxwindows.org. However, I'm unable to configure and set it to work for me. I did read from earlier posts that the wxWindows v2.4.0 DevPaks are available for download at http://michel.weinachter.free.fr/. However, since I have a poor dial up Internet connection and would like to do-it-myself, I would be much obliged if somebody would be able to tell me how should one go about configuring Dev-C++ to recognise the wxWindows libraries. Which means... go to, "project -> project options" and write under "further object files...": -lgdi32 Anyway, normally you wouldn't have ot include it for a simple GetStockObject call, but sometimes you get that error, it's weird, does anyone know why that happens, that sometimes the funcion is already included and sometimes it's not? lkt153 |

Hi All I would like to use an external package (GNU gsl 1.3) with Dev-C++, it come as source files an requires to be compiled by using Configure and Make. Does anyone know of a guide or howto that would guide me through this process, my worries /question is. Can I be compiled with Dev-C++ version 4.9.7.4 with Mingw included? If yes how to do it. How do I tell Dev-C++ to use such a library? As a newbie, am I over my head here? Lars-Bo |

It's almost as if you had too long command line, so that it cuts of after a while. The strange thing is that the last file starting with obj/g_ is obj/g_user.o, and that comes quite early in the command line. /Per W On Tue, 4 Feb 2003, Charles Pence wrote: > > Hey everyone. > I just downloaded and set up Dev-C++ (2.95 tools) and got all my SDKs > running through combinations of judicious downloading and dlltool usage. > > But... -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hey everyone. I just downloaded and set up Dev-C++ (2.95 tools) and got all my SDKs running through combinations of judicious downloading and dlltool usage. But... I'm getting a link error. Every single .O file compiles perfectly (for an ex-MSVC junkie, I'm shocked by the number of good warnings that GCC puts out), and then I get the following when it tries to link: Compiler: Default compiler Building Makefile: "C:\Development\Projects\Scoped\Source\Makefile.win" Executing make... make.exe -f "C:\Development\Projects\Scoped\Source\Makefile.win" all g++.exe obj/zone.o obj/common.o obj/console.o obj/cvar.o obj/draw.o obj/g_input.o obj/g_main.o obj/g_move.o obj/g_phys.o obj/g_user.o obj/host.o obj/host_cmd.o obj/in_win.o obj/keys.o obj/mathlib.o obj/menu.o obj/model.o obj/pr_cmds.o obj/pr_edict.o obj/pr_exec.o obj/r_light.o obj/r_main.o obj/r_mesh.o obj/r_misc.o obj/r_part.o obj/r_sky.o obj/r_surf.o obj/sbar.o obj/screen.o obj/snd_al.o obj/snd_wav.o obj/sys_sdl.o obj/utility.o obj/vid.o obj/vid_ext.o obj/view.o obj/world.o obj/cmd.o -o "..\Scoped.exe" - -L"C:/DEVELOPMENT/DEV-CPP/lib" -lsdlmain -lsdl -llibopengl32 -llibglu32 - -lglut32 -ldevil -lilu -lilut -I"C:/DEVELOPMENT/DEV-CPP/include" - -I"C:/DEVELOPMENT/DEV-CPP/include" G__~1.EXE: obj/g_: No such file or directory Execution terminated Which is really odd, considering I don't __HAVE__ an object named "obj/g_", but it thinks I do. Anyone know what the deal is?
