Hi guys, I sent this e-mail to the "feature request" people from DevC++. = I wonder if you can give me a hint: "Hi Guys,=20 DevC++ is now very known for being a revolutionary free IDE, not only by = advance programmers but also by newbies (like me). There is a critical = feature in TurboC++ 4.5(my old compiler) which I'm surprised is missing = in DevC++. I have seen people requesting that feature in forums and in = DevC++ e-mail lists. I'm talking about the "trace" feature, where you = actually trace line by line (f7 in turbo C++) to find that stupid = mistake that one couldn't find by reading the whole code 10 times. If = you decided to not use "trace", I'm sure there's a very good reason why, = but could you please explain it to me so I can see what I'm missing? Thank you and keep doing such an amazing job with DevC++, the = friendliest IDE out there." This might be a stupid question, but I'm still learning, so I'll = appreciate any feedback. Thank you. Hi. I have quite strange problem with dialog based application. When I try to compile and execute such program I get console window waiting for close. I've tried many different examples from books, wizards(other programs ex. lcc-win32), tutorials etc. I get always the same result - console window. Did anyone have such problem? Thanks. |

I do not what will happen will legacy code, but probably it will be lost. But I DO NOT KNOW. I am telling what i have read so far (and few things are available regarding Longhorn so far). Dev-C++'s MINGW will probably do so till then (but .NET is a different API). :) Ioannis Vranos * Programming pages: http://www.noicys.freeurl.com * Alternative URL: http://run.to/noicys |

The code is not portable. It doesn't compile in C++ mode: temp.cpp: In function `int main()': temp.cpp:4: `strcmp' undeclared (first use this function) temp.cpp:4: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in.) temp.cpp:4: warning: unused variable `int i' > Execution finished. [mailto:dev...@li...] On Behalf Of Santiago Sent: Tuesday, November 05, 2002 7:48 PM To: dev-cpp-users-list Subject: [Dev-C++] Why does this work??? Hi all, In the two books I have, it says that in order to use the C-Style function strcmp, I need to #include <string.h>. I tried the following in compilers including DevC++ and it works.......? //no includes..... int main() { char a[] = "Hello"; int i = strcmp(a, "There"); return 0; } To better show you, I didn't use any #include. Anyone has any idea as to why this program compiles? If iostream.h is added and if you cout<<i then it shows the returned value. Thanks for your feedback. San |

It will even have an entirely different file system the WinFS, based on the upcoming SQL Server release (i do not remember its codename, my brain is very tired these days :)). It will be a database file system, that is one will be able to issue queries on it. My guess regarding managed APIs only support of Longhorn, is that it probably is part of the Palladium project, in which BillG must know all of your habbits (because he loves and cares about you as a Father, that's why) and this can't be done in Win32 API stuff. Longhorn will also have an advanced video api for amazing graphics. Expect Longhorn at the earliest in 2004. Imagine what computers we will have then (it's a century in computer time).
