I'm another one of those guys leaving harvesting and trying out programming.
In this program I must display the time, secs, mins, and hours. I'm still
working on it, I was wondering if there is a better way to make it wait a
minute than doing a while loop. Also, I don't want the thing scrolling down
the screen, it seems like it should not move, I have'nt wrote that part, but
I will tonight. I would think that you don't do carriage return line feed,
and use a backspace character ?
Here's my member function prototype in the class Time
// Wait a second
void wait_a_second();
Here's my "While Loop" definition in the Function File
// Wait one second, set for Intel Celeron Processor 366MHZ
void Time::wait_a_second()
{
int count_down = 51000000; //iterations for 366 celeron pocessor
//Wait for second to lapse
while(count_down > 0) //simple repetitive instruction
{
count_down += -1; //decrement value in variable
}
}
Again, I will be working on the stationary display tonight.
thanks for any ideas
Louis

Hello, Unfortunately for C++ programmers, Dev-c++/pascal will be wrote using Kylix (portable Delphi) for speeding up development time. Borland will release soon a free delphi compiler so anybody who knows delphi could participate. Hi to all, I'm new in this mailing-list.I need some informations.
I wanted to know the correct syntax of the command "__asm".
I try with:
WNDCLASSEX wincl;
__asm mov wincl.style, CS_DBLCLKS
and returns the error:
parse error before `wincl'
Thanks
p.s. excuse my bad english :-)

Tabs work too (as in EditPad). Will you be using wxWindows. In that case the development scheme could be simplified. The blocks LINUX and WINDOWS could be eliminated. Also other platforms come into view as well, like BeOS. >for those who may be interested about how the next Dev-C++ version will be >made, >you can take a look at the development scheme at : >http://www.haikuzone.org/dev/dev_plan.jpg |

I had some problems but I can't remember them now. iostream, fstream etc: the standard says you can use ios_base::in, ios_base::out etc. to specify the open mode. Dev-C++ doesn't know these, you have to use fstream::in, fstream::out etc. The later will of course work on a standard C++ compiler too. string: the template char_traits< > is string_char_traits< > in Dev-CPP. I think the Borland C++ Compiler 5.5 is ANSI compliant very well and you can get it at www.borland.com for free. It is also included in the C++ Builder 5. -- ============================================================ Ing. Boleslav Vrany Stanice techniku DDM hl. m. Multi-window sometimes gets too complicated for the uses its intended for. Using project explorer would be fine. Also using tab sheets (from what I'm guessing this is) would be good. -----Original Message----- From: dev...@li... [mailto:dev...@li...]On Behalf Of Colin Laplace Sent: Wednesday, 7 March 2001 3:33 AM To: dev...@li... Subject: [Dev-C++] The Plan :) Hi all ! for those who may be interested about how the next Dev-C++ version will be made, you can take a look at the development scheme at : http://www.haikuzone.org/dev/dev_plan.jpg The development (coding) should begin in at least one-two months, and i'm planning everyting at this moment (maybe Hongli Lai will be of the party too). Porting and making a portable version of Dev-c++/pascal will be a long an hard work, so i think no working beta versions will be released before august-september (and maybe more). Also, i was thinking of changing the mdi style editing (multi-window) to tabsheets or simply use the project explorer to manage and edit files. Please give me your opinion on this :) Greetings ! Peter, In the book I have for C++ says "All floating-point arithmetic is done in double precision. So the only time you should use float instead of double is when you are storing large quantities of real numbers and are concerned about storage space or access time" Hope this helps Chemanuel __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Sure to add version info to your program, in the resource file add =
something like this:
VS_VERSION_INFO VERSIONINFO
FILEVERSION 1,0,0,1
PRODUCTVERSION 1,0,0,1
FILEFLAGSMASK 0x3fL
FILEOS 0x4L
FILETYPE 0x1L
FILESUBTYPE 0x0L
BEGIN
BLOCK "StringFileInfo"
BEGIN
BLOCK "040904b0"
BEGIN
VALUE "Comments", "Some comments.\0"
VALUE "CompanyName", "Company name\0"
VALUE "FileDescription", "Stuff\0"
VALUE "FileVersion", "1.0\0"
VALUE "InternalName", "Stuff\0"
VALUE "LegalCopyright", "Copyright (C) 2001\0"

VALUE "SpecialBuild", "\0"
END
END
BLOCK "VarFileInfo"
BEGIN
